Male Anchor: Good evening I’m Eirch Tamlan
Female Anchor: And I’m Rana Thanoptis
Erich: And this is N3 news….our top story…Following a tense closed negotiation, Emperor Korax struck a deal with the members of the mercenary organization FIREWATCH, allowing them to keep the UAA ExSentinels and continue combat operations within Karga. Spokesmen for the House of Korax said that the members of FIREWATCH greatly impressed His Highness with their warrior’s pride and spirit. We attempted to reach FIREWATCH for further comment but the pilots and their mysterious leader left the capital for parts unknown and have not been heard from.
In response to this development, representatives of the Kynis Opposition stated only that it didn’t matter who was piloting the ExSentinels, they were standing on the wrong side of history
Former head of the UAA and Chairman of the Nearside Federation Karhan Ramsus released a statement applauding both Korax and FIREWATCH noting that anything that invoked the old sentiments of the UAA was music to his ears, though he still refused to give any kind of official political endorsement calling the Civil War a “Kargan affair”
Rana: Another rough day in the Elaran House of Lords today as a civilian aid initiative meant to help the citizens of Karga displaced and dispossessed by the Civil War was struck down by a slim majority with Lord Delaney placing the tiebreaking vote. Queen Ymri has been trying to secure aid funds to send to Karga ever since hostilities began in the empire and has had almost every initiative defeated. Lord Delaney had this to say:
Delaney: “Queen Ymri would have us send money and food to the man who took over our nation not even a generation ago. She would have us divest our own precious resources with no possible hope of recompense when Falmak Kynis just ends up winning anyways. It should be obvious to everyone now that the Queen has no clear idea of what it means to run this nation.”
Rana: The Queen could not be reached for comment
Erich: As tensions groundside increase, more and more colonies are calling upon the Nearside Federation for membership, seeking to leave behind the earthbound nations and become part of a economic and political community that better understands their needs and goals. So far no additional colonies have been accepted into Nearside, Chairman Ramsus held a press conference earlier this week:
Ramsus: "It is the decision of the board of the Nearside Fed that colonies affiliated with groundside nations will not be considered for membership unless released by their sponsor nations. Nearside is not interested in contending with groundside nations for space based holdings nor are we in an expansionist policy. Nearside exists to continue smooth management of former UAA facilities and most importantly the Sunlight Stations which continue to do their job and stave off the polar ice we are not nor will we be a convenient escape from the political jungles of Algol.
Erich: And now for sports…Brick?
